Highview Haven

We just returned from a truly unforgettable week at Highview Haven. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by natural beauty and the wildlife was abundant! We spotted herons, osprey, and a playful family of baby river otters. Another highlight was my son’s catch of the trip, a huge catfish! The home itself was incredibly comfortable and well appointed. The screened porch was our gathering spot morning day and night! We could not get enough of the stunning view of the lake. The hot tub added an extra level of relaxation! The dock was an easy launching point for floating in the quiet cove. It felt like our own private retreat. Inside, the house was spotless and extremely well-furnished. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed, which made preparing meals a breeze. I even ordered a few of the gadgets they had for home! That said, we did order out a few times and had really liked Vinny’s—great Italian food and pizza. One of the main reasons we chose this home was so that my parents (87 and 93 years old) could join us, and it worked out perfectly. The main floor master suite and walk-in shower made everything safe and accessible for them, which allowed the whole family to enjoy the vacation together. Five plus stars all around! This was not our first time staying at Highview Haven, but it was our first time renting it through this company—and the difference in service was night and day. We’ve always loved the home, but the responsiveness and support we received this time made an already great experience even better. We ran out of propane during our stay and didn’t have a vehicle with us. To our surprise, the rental company delivered a fresh tank right to the door, completely above and beyond expectations. They also helped us figure out how to use the dock’s misting system and fans, which kept the afternoons cool and comfortable. It turned out to be simple user error on our part, but they were patient and helpful. Big thanks to SML Vacation Rentals! The house itself is just as beautiful and well-maintained as we remembered. The layout is ideal for families—spacious, open, and filled with natural light. The chef’s kitchen has everything you need, and we loved having meals in the screened-in porch while looking out over the lake. The great room is perfect for gathering in the evenings, and the downstairs game area gave the kids their own space to hang out. The private dock is a major highlight—there are plenty of shaded and sunny spots to relax and even a hammock for true lakefront lounging. The kayaks were a hit with the kids, and it’s a fantastic swimming area as well, very protected. We already knew we loved Highview Haven, but this time sealed the deal—we’ll absolutely be booking through this company again. A top-notch property paired with truly exceptional service!
