Live, Love, Lake!

The Smith Mountain Lake is an amazing place and Bernards Landing is an excellent property. See PicsOur problem was with communication from the property management group. We did not communicate directly with the owner. In the arrival instructions they told us to bring all this basic stuff- Toilet paper, trash fbags, dishwasher soap, etc. Never heard of such a thing and I tried to confirm this unusual instruction, but they didn’t respond. So we had to scramble last minute to buy all this stuff. As it turns out the unit was as well supplied as any place I’ve stayed in. Great place, poor communication.

Stayed here with a couple of buddies for a fishing trip and it worked out great. The condo was clean, comfortable, and had plenty of space, and a bathroom for each of us. The location was perfect—right near the dock, so getting out on the water was quick and hassle-free. After a long day fishing, it was nice to come back and relax on the deck with the lake and mountain views. We used the indoor hot tub and pool. With so many places to choose from at Bernard’s Landing, this one was great and within our budget. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for a solid place to stay with everything close by. We’d book it again.

Great condo in a great location. The place was clean, updated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The views from both decks were terrific, especially at sunset. We really liked the modern kitchen with solid appliances. Could use a few more plastic cups for outdoor use- The main floor had two good-sized queen bedrooms, and the loft upstairs was perfect for the kids, with their own bathroom and extra space. The setup gave everyone enough room to spread out. It’s just a short walk to the dock, beach, pools, and tennis courts, and we enjoyed having the restaurant and bar right on-site. Easy access by car or boat, and only about 15 minutes to groceries. Overall, a solid spot for a family trip or weekend getaway—we’d definitely stay here again.

This condo was perfect for my husband and I, our son and daughter-in-law and our two young grandchildren (ages 2 and 6). Although there were stairs to the unit we did not find them bothersome. The proximity to the clubhouse with both an indoor and outdoor pool as well as the small sandy beach were key to our fabulous week! The unit was set up perfectly with everything we needed for meal prep, sleeping comfortably and relaxing (napping) during the mid-day heat. The courtesy boat docks were conveniently located just a short walk across a grassy field and the entire area was incredibly quiet. The outdoor decks were nice, but they are not covered, so they get very wet when it rains. This is a very convenient location but if you want outdoor dining or shaded seating, this is not the unit for you. Overall, we loved our stay here are likely to book this unit again in the future.
