Gunner's Lookout

This is our 4th year staying at Gunner's Lookout. What a fabulous home and views of Smith Mt. Lake. This home is the perfect setup for our 3 generation of family to spend the week together. This year our youngest daughter and husband were able to utilize the beautiful nursery on the 3rd level for our 4 month old grandson. Great memories were created and we cant wait to return in 2026. We are very grateful to work with the staff at SML Vacation Rentals. You are the best.

This house is perfectly set for our family. Comfortable seating for all, large table in dining room, table on deck, very comfortable seating and tables on lower deck. We have rented a pontoon each time from the nearby marina and the kids have had a ball. Fishing, swimming, tubing, and even water skiing. Access to everything you need is only a few minutes away. Kitchen has everything you need to make meals and serve a small army. Good quality pots and pans, dishes, plenty of coffee mugs. Refrigerator on 1st level is very convenient for that "overflow" food, leftovers, drinks. Both have icemakers that work! Charcoal grill came in handy as well! The kayaks and paddle boards are a very nice perk also. This is an ideal vacation home!

How would you describe the overall comfort level of the rental? Excellent. We are a family of eight with three small children and this place fits us well. How was your water access and parking (both boat and car)? Perfect and easy! What was your favorite amenity or feature of the house during your stay? We love the house. Mountain views are my favorite. The kids love the indoor pool and the beach area. How would you describe the slope (gentle, easy, leg burner) to the water from the rental? Was it easy for the elderly, children, or pets to access? Perfect for everyone!! Did the kitchen have the necessary tools and appliances for your cooking needs? Yes. We have added some little tools over the years, however, everything is there that is need. Based on your experience, what is one item you would recommend future renters bring with them? Beach towels and extra pillow cases.

As always, we had a great week at Gunner's Lookout. This is the third year in a row we have stayed there. The house setup is perfect for our family, with three floors and bedroom accommodations on each level. There are beautiful lake views, wonderful amenities, and plenty of space. We look forward to returning in July 2025.
