Papa Don's Place

House was cozy. The yard has not been maintained much at all. Had to move downed tree branches to get to water. Water in lake is low. It was difficult to reach floating dock. Owner needs to spend some money on the landscaping. Inside was clean and nice but by no means fancy.

We had a great stay . All the pros: Loved having use of the covered slip for my boat , and having 2 floating docks was great being we had our dogs and that gave us plenty of room . Hill was not bad compared to every other place we have stayed over the years here . As for the staff they are awesome Teresa, Candy , and handy man Rob were great when we had an issue . Very professional and courteous with us . House had plenty of room for our crew of 4 even with dogs. Driveway was no issue straight in with parking for 3 . Being at a cul-de-sac was great for backing in my trailer . Dock had plenty of water even at these low levels I still had 10 feet under the boat in the slip and 19 just passed the dock ends . Only con : was no outside trash cans .

Everything is exceptional in this home; the new flooring was a huge hit, and it has every amenity that we could ever need. It is not bad getting down to the dock, and the dock is shady at times throughout the day and very easy accessible to the water. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with everything we need, and we love the upper deck because of the shade. Parking is wonderful, we love the deer and the wildlife. It is secluded if you had a pet, they could not venture to the houses next door. This is our favorite place we’ve ever stayed, and we make the best memories here. This is a wonderful vacation, actually, fabulous, and we enjoy every minute of this home every year!

Papa, Don’s is quite amazing. The water is crystal clear green. It’s got a covered dock for your boat and an uncovered dock attached to it as well. It is not a very steep hill, and with an upper and lower deck, the breeze is amazing. There are plenty of trees, so the upper deck is shady the majority of the day, which is wonderful. We have been staying here for several years and we enjoy all the Amenities the kitchen offers. Comfortable beds and furniture. And it is in a quiet Cove. Smith Mountain Lake Vacation Rentals have been amazing to deal with and are accommodating in so many ways. Truly, if you’re looking for peaceful, quiet, beautiful Waters, great boat access and a magnificent stay, you should try this
