Paddles Up

We enjoyed our stay at this home. It accommodates our family well! The kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed. The deck furniture off the house is pretty worn and not very inviting to sit out there. The deck is awesome and we hung out there mostly!

Take a step ladder or stole to use at dock if you rented a boat to get on and off. The water is down 8 feet and no water access from dock. Don’t drop motor too soon we damaged ours due to low water. The house was nice could stand to be dusted weekly in addition to mop the floor. The beds were middle range for comfort. We went to island to enjoy the water due to low levels.we made the best of situation but rental should have a floating dock due to low water for renters to use

We had a great week at Smith Mountain Lake. The house is very nice with plenty of room to spread out and a nice deck to drink coffee in the mornings and watch the sunset at night. The kitchen was perfect for making meals, but we also took advantage of Mitchell’s Marina (close by) and some other favorite spots like Jake’s Place and the Pizza Pub. The weather was very hot so we spent a lot of time floating in the lake. It is a nice, quiet location and the dogs enjoyed the shady dock. We also took advantage of the nearby state park for our morning walks. The property manager was very helpful when we had an issue at the house.

We had a great stay at Paddles Up. There was a plenty of room and seating to just hang out, and we enjoyed the lake-facing deck. The kitchen was roomy and the dining room table was large and beautiful. We had a couple of glitches upon arrival but the rental agency went above and beyond to make things right.

The house was nice. It could use a good cleaning from top to bottom, but after 8 rentals at SML, this is a recurring theme I have seen at the end of the busy season. Loved the upper deck outside looking at the lake ( a lot of lower limbs but you can see the dock.) Make sure you check the water level of the lake, if you have a bass boat like we do then the water level will affect how you dock your boat, I think it could be possible for a boat user not to be able to dock their boat if the lake is low. The double oven was a great addition. The dining room table is large enough for a family of 10. This home is a pet-friendly home (which we love). Thank you for that! Even though it rained on us for 5 days out of 7, we had fun! The hill going down to the dock is mid-grade; there is a sidewalk to the dock that is a bit steep, so if you have older persons with you, you will need to help them down to the pier. Overall I give this home 7 out of 10.
