Paddles Up

Spacious house with a great kitchen and large rooms that worked well for the family, the 2nd refrig in the basement was a bonus. The water level was 5 ft below full pond so docking and getting on/off the tritoon was challenging, but we figured it out. There is a leg burner uphill walk from the dock to the house, so be prepared. The outside of the house could have used a little dusting to remove the cobwebs, etc. that accumulated throughout the summer, and the back deck furniture was a bit of a disappointment - plastic chairs pieced together around the table. The dock was enjoyable for fishing and swimming, but due to the water level we didn't allow anyone to jump from the dock. While we enjoyed the dock, the dock furniture was also a bit disappointing - a picnic table, the chairs were hard and could have used some cushions. This location is tucked away in a cove so there wasn't a lot of boat traffic when we were there, but that could have been a result of the water level, as there are plenty of boats on the boat slip for the condos across from the dock. Overall, we had a great time and made wonderful memories at Paddles Up.

We enjoyed our stay at this home. It accommodates our family well! The kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed. The deck furniture off the house is pretty worn and not very inviting to sit out there. The deck is awesome and we hung out there mostly!

Take a step ladder or stole to use at dock if you rented a boat to get on and off. The water is down 8 feet and no water access from dock. Don’t drop motor too soon we damaged ours due to low water. The house was nice could stand to be dusted weekly in addition to mop the floor. The beds were middle range for comfort. We went to island to enjoy the water due to low levels.we made the best of situation but rental should have a floating dock due to low water for renters to use

We had a great week at Smith Mountain Lake. The house is very nice with plenty of room to spread out and a nice deck to drink coffee in the mornings and watch the sunset at night. The kitchen was perfect for making meals, but we also took advantage of Mitchell’s Marina (close by) and some other favorite spots like Jake’s Place and the Pizza Pub. The weather was very hot so we spent a lot of time floating in the lake. It is a nice, quiet location and the dogs enjoyed the shady dock. We also took advantage of the nearby state park for our morning walks. The property manager was very helpful when we had an issue at the house.

We had a great stay at Paddles Up. There was a plenty of room and seating to just hang out, and we enjoyed the lake-facing deck. The kitchen was roomy and the dining room table was large and beautiful. We had a couple of glitches upon arrival but the rental agency went above and beyond to make things right.
