Almost Heaven

We had an absolute blast staying at this lovely home for the third year in a row! The location is perfect—just minutes away from all the attractions, making it super convenient for our family adventures. Moosies is a favorite spot to grab a bite and people-watch while shopping for souvenirs. The property was clean and well-kept, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. One of our favorite features was the dock, which offered plenty of space for both adults and kids to swim and fish in the evenings. It became the highlight of our days! The only downside was the ticks the dogs brought home...thanks Mother Nature! Overall, our stay at Smith Mountain Lake was fantastic, and we can’t wait to return next year.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful home at Smith Mountain Lake! With spacious bedrooms and 3 baths, it was the perfect retreat for our family of six, including our grandchildren, aged 15 and 11. The layout offered plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy. The quiet, private cove location was ideal for some peaceful downtime. We brought our boat, and the dock made it super convenient for outings on the water. The built-in fire pit was a highlight of our evenings; we enjoyed cozy family time under the stars. One of our favorite features was the excellent game room. We spent countless hours playing games, and it kept the kids entertained and engaged. Working with the rental company was easy—they were responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, we had a fantastic week and can’t wait to return! Highly recommend this home for a family getaway!

Almost Heaven is very private, tucked away in a quiet cove with easy access to everything SML has to offer. We enjoyed morning coffee on the deck, watching the deer and herons. The boat house and floating dock were an added bonus for swimming and fishing. The steep walk from the house to the water might be difficult for elderly visitors to manage. The house is large, the kitchen well stocked for cooking, and lots of comfy furniture to read a book or watch a movie in case of rain (which happened to us) . Our favorite part was the view from the sunroom- beautiful!
